Privacy Policy

SynthGen AI ("we", "our", or "us") operates the SynthGen AI mobile app and its share extension (together, the "App"). The App makes a new video from a video you choose, starring you, using a photo you provide. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account details - Your name and email address from Sign in with Apple or Google (Apple may give us a private relay address instead of your real one), and a user ID we create for your account.
  • Your photos - The photos you add so that we can put you into videos.
  • Videos you choose - The links you share or paste (for example from TikTok, Instagram or YouTube) and the video we fetch from them, or the videos you pick from your photo library, plus a still frame from each.
  • Videos we make for you - The finished videos and details about them, such as the option you picked, their length and the credits used.
  • Purchases and credits - Your subscription status and purchase records (received from Apple through RevenueCat), your credit balance and credit history.
  • Notification token - If you allow notifications, a device token so we can tell you when a video is ready.
  • Device identifier - A random identifier the App creates and keeps on your device, and, where available, Apple's DeviceCheck service. We use them only to give one free video per account and device and to prevent abuse of it. They do not identify you and are not used for tracking or advertising.
  • Technical logs - Our servers record requests and errors to keep the service running and secure.

We do not use advertising identifiers and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To make the videos you ask for, and to keep your photos and videos so you can watch, download and share them
  • To run your account, credits and subscription
  • To send the notifications you allowed
  • To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems
  • To answer you when you contact us

We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use your photos or videos to train AI models.

3. Your Photos and Your Face

We use your photo only to put you into the videos you request. We do not use it to identify you, we do not create face recognition templates from it, and we do not share it with anyone except the AI provider that makes your video (see section 4) and the storage provider that keeps it for you (see section 5). Please only add photos of yourself, or of people who have given you permission.

4. AI Processing by a Third Party

To make a video, we send your photo and the video you chose to Replicate, Inc., which runs the AI model on its servers and sends the finished video back to us. Depending on the option you pick, the model is Wan 2.2 Animate (developed by Alibaba's Tongyi Lab) or Kling motion control (developed by Kuaishou), both run by Replicate. Before your first video, the App asks for your permission to send your photo and the video to our AI provider. Nothing is sent before you agree. You can stop at any time by not making new videos, deleting your photos, or deleting your account.

5. Other Service Providers

  • Cloudflare - Stores your photos, the videos you choose and the videos we make.
  • Render - Hosts our servers.
  • Neon - Hosts our database (account, credits and video records).
  • RevenueCat - Manages purchases and subscriptions. It receives an app user ID and your purchase data. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
  • Apple and Google - Sign-in. Apple also delivers our notifications (Apple Push Notification service).
  • ScrapeCreators - When we cannot fetch a public video from its link ourselves, we send only that link to ScrapeCreators to get the video. No personal data is sent with it.

These providers process data only to provide their service to us. Some of them are located in the United States or other countries, so your data may be processed outside your country, with the safeguards these providers offer for international transfers.

6. Data Storage and Security

All data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Your files are stored at long, random addresses that are not listed or published anywhere, and access to our systems is restricted. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your data.

7. Data Retention

  • Account, credits and video records - Kept while your account exists.
  • Your photos - Kept until you delete them (Profile, then Delete my photos) or delete your account.
  • Videos we make - Kept until you delete them in My videos or delete your account.
  • Videos you choose - Kept with your account and deleted when you delete your account.
  • Technical logs - Kept for a limited time.
  • Free video record - The device identifier and whether its free video was used. Kept after you delete your account, without any link to it, so each device gets one free video.

You can delete your account in the App (Profile, then Delete account). This removes your account, photos, videos and credits.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, or under the minimum age required in your country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your data
  • Object to or restrict some uses of your data
  • Withdraw your consent at any time

To use these rights, contact us at the address below. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above, and for important changes we will tell you in the App.
